Dome Tent General

Dome assembly is a major project that requires technical construction skills and at least one whole day to complete. We strongly recommend working with a local contractor or tradesperson to assemble your dome.

To complete assembly, you will need at minimum the following tools: tape measure, cordless power drill, wrenches, pliers, and a spirit level.

We use fabrics that are water repellent, however, the bottom of the dome tent is open. The dome tent will not naturally form a watertight seal with the ground.

To create a watertight seal you will need to build a curb or install flashing to ensure that water that runs off the side of the dome does not flow back under the dome tent. Check the "Assembly" FAQs for recommendations.

Redwood Outdoors is not responsible for water damage to property inside the dome.

Your dome should have no problems withstanding heavy rain. Cover seams are welded or sealed with hot-tape to be waterproof. Caulking can be used if you have any leaking problems.

Yes!

Do not store the dome cover when damp or wet. Mildew can grow on any damp surface and may permanently stain the fabric.

Do not store dome cover in freezing temperatures as clear window vinyl may become brittle and can be damaged if moved.

Always store the frame and cover off the ground to prevent potential moisture damage, which can lead to frame rust and fabric rot.

Due to the effects of long-term exposure to UV radiation, the dome cover will change color and yellow slightly over time. This typically happens first on the transparent window and then on the opaque cover.

To remove minor scratches and hazing on your bay window, use a restorative product such as Diamondite. For best results, always follow individual manufacturer’s directions for use.
