The HUUM DROP heater kit is inspired by the purest element in nature – a water drop. Its round design softens and livens up the angular interior of a classic sauna, giving it a touch of elegance. But DROP isn’t only about the looks. This compact wall-mounted heater can actually fit up to 121 lbs of sauna rocks, exceeding most wood-burning stoves and guaranteeing long-lasting steam.

Electrical Requirements

All electrical wiring must be performed by a qualified and licensed electrician with complete knowledge of local codes and regulations. 

This sauna heater will require 220v and must be hard-wired to the electrical panel. The 6kw digital heater will require a 30-amp breaker and #10 copper wire, unless they are positioned more than 30 feet from a breaker. In which case, they will require a #8 wire. The 9kw digital heater will require a 50-amp breaker and #8 copper wire. The HUUM power unit is not weatherproof and must housed in weatherproof protection or located in a dry area. The power unit feeds power to your sauna heater, temperature sensor and the digital control panel via separate wires and cables. The digital control panel must be positioned within 16-1/2 feet of the power unit box. The digital wall control must also be outside of sauna and housed in a weatherproof box.

Your electrician will drill a hole in the wall of the sauna below the heater for the conduit. All of the wiring will come into the sauna from the power unit through this hole.

Use copper wire with 90C insulation. Do not use aluminum wire to make the connection. Consult with an electrician so you can determine the requirements for your particular situation. All wiring must conform to all national, state, and local codes and regulations.

Because our saunas run on 220v of electricity and draw less than 50 amps of power they are quite energy efficient and should not be a significant drain on your electricity bill. 

Steam Like In A Traditional Sauna

HUUM heaters are built by using very small amounts of metal so that the heat comes mainly from the stones and only very little from the metal. This way we can maximize the good negative ions from the stones, like in traditional saunas, and keep the positive ions from the metal at a minimum. Together with a high stone capacity this is our secret to healthy, mild and long-lasting steam.
