The Alaskan All-In-One is a dual heater chiller, and it can go as low as 37°F and as high as 104° F.

Cooling times are highly dependent on the ambient temperature, and it will usually take about 3 hours or more to reach standard cold plunging temperatures from room temperature water.

The most important factor impacting cooling times is the outside temperature. If the chiller is in Arizona with an outside temperature 105 °F, it will cool the water much slower than if the chiller is in Maine with an outside temperature of ~65 °F. This is because (1) the outside air heats up the water in your cold plunge, and (2) the chiller (like an air conditioner unit) is less efficient in high temperatures because it cannot effectively dissipate the hot air it generates.

Try some of the following steps to improve your cooling times:

Place the Alaskan in a well-ventilated area. The silver vents should be exposed and should have at least 3ft of open space beside them so that fresh air can enter the vents and hot air can be released in the cooling process.

Leave your Alaskan on at mid-temperature. If you would like to take your plunge at 40 °F (for example), leave your chiller on and running at ~60 °F, then set the temperature down to your desired temperature a few hours before your plunge.

Make sure your tub's lid is on securely. This will help insulate the water and keep it shaded from the sun.

The minimum ambient operating temperature is 23 °F.

If used in temperatures lower than 23 °F, ice will form on the internal components and damage the machine. The tub must be drained and the filter housing opened to release water pressure. If the filter is not released, water will still be in the system. Damage caused by use in temperatures below 23 °F is not covered by the warranty.

If temperatures drop below 23 °F the tub must be drained and the paper filter removed.

The tub must be ON AND RUNNING consistently whenever temperatures are between 32 °F and 24 °F.

If the tub is OFF with water in it and the temperature is below 32 °F, water will freeze and damage the equipment. If you want to turn your tub off when temperatures are below 32 °F, the tub must be drained.

The maximum operating temp is 110 °F. The tub must be turned off in ambient temps 110 °F or more to prevent damaging internal components. Damage caused by use in 110 °F temps or higher is not covered under warranty.

At least once every 3 months if the tub is running consistently. If you use the tub every day, change it more often.

A filter cartridge typically lasts 6 to 12 months, however, it must be cleaned regularly to achieve this lifespan. To keep your filtration system in top working condition, we recommend cleaning it at least once per month.

To clean the filter cartridge, remove it from the filter housing and place it in a bucket of water. Add a filter cleaning agent to the water and swish around to mix. Let the cartridge sit in the bucket for ~24 hours. After 24 hours, take the cartridge out, rinse, and leave it to dry. Once the filter is dried out, you can put it back in the filtration system for use.

We recommend buying filter cartridges in pairs. Then when it's time to clean your filter, you can use your second cartridge. By rotating between filter cartridges, you can avoid having to stop using your plunge tub while the filter is being cleaned, and you can buy cartridges less frequently.

Redwood Outdoors sells replacement filter cartridges for when your cartridge has reached the end of its life and needs a change.

The Alaskan All-In-One has UV water sanitation built in. Chlorine/bromine tabs are not required to keep the water sanitary. Adding chlorine/bromine can corrode the equipment, and corrosion caused by chlorine/bromine is not covered under Redwood Outdoors’ product warranty.

Yes, it is very important to monitor your alkaline, pH, and calcium (hardness) levels to avoid damaging your equipment over time. Any damage due to improper water chemistry is not covered under Redwood Outdoors’ product warranty.

Your Alaskan All-In-One's water must be checked regularly to make sure it is within the ranges below:

pH: 7.2 - 7.8

Calcium: 150 - 250 ppm

Alkaline: 80 - 120 ppm

In most cases, you will find that you need to increase your alkalinity, decrease your pH, and increase calcium. Our Water Balancing Kit provides the chemicals and the testing strips needed to make these adjustments.
